Reset
System Settings: Reset Module Documentation
The Reset module in AccuBooks Plus is a powerful administrative tool located under the System Settings menu. It allows administrators to manage, clear, or reset transactional and master data within the system, typically used during data cleanup, testing phases, or when preparing a database for actual production use.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the Reset page is to give authorized users the ability to selectively wipe out specific data types—such as Sales, Purchases, or Vendor/Customer lists—without having to completely delete the entire company database.
This is particularly useful when:
- Clearing out sample or demo data after a trial period.
- Removing test transactions before officially "going live."
- Correcting massive data entry errors by resetting a specific ledger category.
⚠️ Warning: Resetting or clearing data is permanent and cannot be undone. Always ensure you have a backup or proper authorization before proceeding.
How to Manage and Reset System Data
Since this is a data-clearing module rather than a transactional data-entry screen, you do not "create" new modules here. Instead, you manage existing data categories. Below is the step-by-step guide on how to navigate, view, and reset data.
1. View and Filter Data Categories
- Navigate to the left sidebar menu and click System Settings, then select Reset.
- Review the listed modules (e.g., Sales, Collections, Purchases, Journal Vouchers, Vendors/Customers) along with their current Transactions Count to see how many entries exist.
- Use the Search... bar at the top right to quickly find a specific transaction module.
- Adjust the viewing preferences using the Per Page dropdown (options include 10, 50, or 100 results) or sort the list using the Order By and Ascending/Descending filters.
2. Resetting a Data Category (Clearing Transactions)
- Locate the specific row of the module you want to clear.
- Look at the Actions column on the far right of that row.
- Click the blue Action/Reset button (indicated by the icon next to the transaction count).
- A confirmation prompt will typically appear to ensure you want to delete the records permanently.
- Confirm the action. Once processed, the Transactions Count for that specific item will drop to 0.
